I had a really hard time waking up today. My alarm clock went of at 6 a.m. but decided to wake up at 10 a.m. in which it was  bad decision because I was planning to prepare for the trip earlier eventually I did manage to work harder to accomplish my daily goals. For this summer I will take two classes the first one is this class and the second one will be a political science class the comparative political systems for the month of July. I’m quite excited to be in Rome and be able to take a lot of pictures and I’m expecting an A in this class that is why I will do my best for my brochure, journal and report. I have realized I do not know how to manage my bank accounts, I just like to swipe my card not realizing the responsibilities that go with that and I just hope that in Rome I use my money wisely and buy a lot of stuff as well. My summer goals will be to earn two A’s for the classes I’m enrolled in, volunteer at Las Americas, come up with new ideas in my job, plan a study schedule for the LSAT, read 15 books from now until August, manage my bank accounts and have fun!

Today we leave to Rome!!! We arrived at the airport at 6 a.m. I got nervous that people were not there at 6:30 a.m. as we were told and that is why we decided to check in as individuals rather than as a whole group and there was no problem what so ever. Fortunately everybody came to the trip and I was really happy to see my whole family and boyfriend at the airport. I’m really excited and a little anxious. I just hope I did took everything I needed for the trip and don’t have problems with my clothes and stuff. A lot of people have asked for me to buy some souvenirs for them and some have given me money especially from the Vatican!
I’m writing right now in my journal and we are flying to Charlotte from Phoenix. For this trip I just want to be myself or better and get to know and enjoy people and make it the most memorable experience in my life. I have the motivation to better myself as a Latina and I want to accomplish it and realize I’m great in order to make my goals and dreams come true. Keeping an open mind is essential.

We are in Rome and we are in class! Our assignment was to describe what we see… well I was ruins, all the archeological site seemed very damaged, there was grass and like eight trees inside the Sacra Di Largo Argentina.
There are some material like if it is going thru a renewal or construction, there are broken pillars on the sides of the archeological site.
In the middle there is a circle except on the front, there are stairs going up that circle and it seemed like a very important place to be at. It makes me think like it is a place where they used to gather around. It is different how the level of the floor is not the same as our floor where we are walking. I observed that in from of the site there was a sign that said the following in Italian: area sorvegliata da telecamera vietato abbandonare I gatti. Assessosato alle politche culturali sovrantendencia capitolina. Italian is similar to Spanish and that is the I have communicated with Italian people.
Archeologists dig out from the archeological site and study them. This is what they did with the Largo Di Argentina. Weather today was quite nice, it seemed like it was 75 Fahrenheit.
